The Verdict. 9. out of 10. Canon EOS R5. The Canon EOS R5 remains the best Canon camera for most uses, and one of the best stills cameras full stop. Two years after release, it's proved to be everything the professional workhorse we'd hoped for thanks to superb autofocus, super rapid burst shooting and the added bonus of up to 8K video. If you’re interested in Canon’s mirrorless offerings, the Canon EOS R5 is basically a mirrorless version of the 5D Mark IV, but raises the stakes significantly with a 45MP full-frame CMOS sensor, 12 fps continuous shooting with a mechanical shutter, 8K 30p raw and 4K 120p 10-bit internal video, 5-Axis image stabilization, and more. Even if [ : Dual Pixel RAW ] is set to [Enable], you cannot record [ ] or [ ] images appended with the Dual Pixel data (only possible with images). If [ : Record func+card/folder sel. ] is set to [Rec. separately] and the image-recording quality is set to [ ] for one card and [ ] or [ ] for the other, Dual Pixel RAW shooting cannot be performed. In this quick video you will learn how to create slow motion with the Canon 5D Mark IV. Thank you for watching this video!#Canoncamera #5D #5DMarkIV #Slowmot
Getting the most from Dual Pixel RAW requires careful adjustments of the EOS 5D Mark IV's shooting values. For the best results, shoot at a lens focal length of at least 50mm and an aperture of f/5.6 or lower, ensuring the ISO value is 1600 or lower. Effects may differ between shooting portrait or vertical format, and for best results ensure
The Canon 5D Mark IV shoots 4K in MJPEG codec at 500/Mbps. MJPEG is not an efficient codec, to say the least, and is about five times the data rate of other cameras that shoot 4K (100/Mbps in H.264). Canon has opted to use the MJPEG codec, the same as the 1D C, which is old technology by anyone’s standards.
In addition to time-lapse photography, Canon 5D Mark IV provides time-lapse video. Time-lapse recording is also possible with the EOS 5D Mark IV. Here, you have control over the interval between images (at a minimum of a second and a maximum of a second under 100 hours between frames). The total number of images that can be recorded is up to a
may become more difficult than in normal shooting. When shooting 4K movies with Canon Log setting, [Peripheral illumin.] under [z1: Lens aberration correction] cannot be set (does not function). Canon Log can also be set for high frame rate movie shooting. The new Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR camera is an outstanding still photography option and an able 4K-capable video machine. The camera’s 30.4MP 35mm Full Frame Canon CMOS sensor offers stunning image quality while the DIGIC 6+ Image Processor delivers 4K 30P video and up to and 7fps continuous shooting. REVIEW: Canon 5D Mark IV - Better than expected. I'll admit that I was pretty disappointed when I heard that Canon was trying to push even more megapixels (30.4 or 6720 x 4480 - > 8k video) into the 5D Mark IV as that's not what users of this camera body needed. They needed better dynamic range and high ISO performance, not fewer pictures Along with capturing beautiful 4K videos, the EOS 5D Mark IV with Canon Log is equally able to shoot Full HD video at up to 60p plus HD at frame rates as high as 120p, ideal for smooth slow-motion video. Sony (and Nikon) set the bar very high with theA7R2, D750 and D810. It’s one area Canon canon has not done well in. Some may well question why you need it. As a wedding photographer I find this a really important feature.

Never mind 4k video! Canon’s R5 mirrorless powerhouse can shoot up to 8K raw footage straight out of the box. Each pixel within the captured image counts. The Canon raw video codec coming out of the R5 is a 10-bit 4:2:2, which is the same as the mighty EOS C200 produces.
1.74x Crop Factor for 4k Video. As has been well covered by Dan Chung at Newshooter, the only way to shoot 4k video with the 5D Mark IV is using a 1:1 center crop of the 30.4 megapixel sensor, which results in a 1.74x crop factor. That means that, when shooting 4k video, your 50mm lens gets an equivalent focal length of 87mm.
Although most EF-S lenses would cover the 1.7-cropped area of the 5D Mark IV's sensor. that's active in video mode, they still can't be used. Even so, this doesn't seem like a very big deal. The term 'crop factor' is dubious enough in itself, but a sensor having an effective crop of 1.7 is only slightly smaller than most APS C cameras which
The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV is one heck of a nice upgrade from the Canon 5D MK III. It has an improved sensor of 30.4 megapixel CMOS sensor with a Digic 6+ processor and 4K video at 23.98, 24, 25 and 30 fps.
On the new Canon 5D Mark IV, it is remarkably easy to shoot 4K video. Press the menu button, then toggle over to Camera Menu 4. There you will see Movie Rec Quality, which you should select. Choose MOV instead of MP4 to access the full range of resolutions, and then choose the resolution and frame rate pairing that best suits your needs.
